I am volunteering with CHRA, the Denver SHRM chapter, as the Director of Workforce Readiness. It’s an issue that has been close to my heart for many years. We are well into our second year of our Workforce Readiness Project. We are working with 7 partner community benefit organizations in an effort to leverage the skills and volunteer spirit of our 1000 local CHRA members. Our recent member survey showed that we had surpassed both our fundraising and volunteer contribution goals but fell short on developing job experiences. Good input as we prepare our 2012 plans. We are especially focused on developing job opportunities for our Military Veterans with a goal of placing 100 Vets in 2012.
